Column Articles are written bi-weekly.
Circe’s Circle casts a pagan perspective over topics such as education, parenting, LGBT issues and anything else that might come to mind.
It is written by D. Ryan. Who is D. Ryan? Well, let’s let her explain….
I’m new to The Pagan and The Pen, so today I’m going to introduce myself. I discovered Wicca my senior year of high school when someone bought me Starhawk’s The Spiral Dance. I’d been through two years of questioning my religious identity. Catholicism, the religion I’d been raised with, didn’t appeal to me. I was lucky that my dad supported my interest (he’d read TSD years earlier) and encouraged me to read more about paganism.
Fast forward…a lot of years…and I find myself occupying the roles of wife, mother, teacher, and writer. I didn’t find a community of pagans where I live, but I have connected with people online. Luckily, my wife is also a pagan, and we’re raising twin daughters as pagans as well. We don’t cast spells or do rituals, but we do look for to the power of nature to meet our spiritual needs.
The posts I intend to write for this column will cover a host of issues, mainly education, parenting, self-help, and LGBT issues. If you have specific questions about any of those issues, please message me by using the link on the Circe’s Circle page. I look forward to getting to know you!
