A Chakra Meditation

A friend gave me this meditation many years ago, and unfortunately the author is unknown. It is a wonderful and quick medition, using the energy properties of  the chakras and the Earth to reach a place of power and peace. I use it as often as possible, usually before any creative endeavor as it helps my ideas to flow smoothly. This practice also helps to open up the spiritual mind as well as align the chakras. Just sit on the floor, cross-legged or lotus position, and visualize each color as you say the affirmation. You can start at the crown chakra or the root – I advise trying both to see which direction resenates best to you.   Any color you have trouble visualizing is an indication that chakra  is blocked or troubled.

Enjoy!

I AM A CRYSTAL HIDDEN UNDER THE EARTH…
(this would be the Crown Chakra Top of Head)

I AM THE PURPLE DEPTHS OF THE SEA…
(this would be the Third Eye in between the eyebrows in middle of forehead)

I AM A BLUE CRESTED WAVE UNDER THE MOON….
(this would be the Throat Chakra)

I AM AN ANCIENT EMERALD FOREST…
(this would be your Heart Chakra)

I AM A YELLOW TEAR OF THE SUN…
(this would be in the Solar Plexus-Tummy area)

I AM A ORANGE PUMPKIN IN A FIELD…
(this would be the Sacral plexus – the area  around the waist/lower tummy and high hips)

I AM A RED FLAMING DOOR…
(this would be the Root Chakra – for grounding – hips and the tail bone)

  1. I found a similar meditation in an astrology book which I use, aligning the chakras and colors without the words. Interesting.

What’s also interesting that in the hatha yoga tradition I studied the chakras are not the same colors as here.

    I prefer this rainbow.
