Pagan Days for Tuesday, November 24th, 2009
Tuesday belongs to the God Mars, Ares, Tiwaz, Tiw (named after), Tuisco & Tyr
Tuesday belongs not only to the God Mars, but also to the Planet of Mars. We can also toss the Element of Fire into the mix ,and have the makings of a very heated and passionate day!
If you don’t have anyone to vent those wild emotions out on, don’t fret, because you can point them in the direction of matters or magical rituals and spells concerning:
Anything having to do with marriage, money or wealth, loyalty, enemies, protection, confidence for yourself or another, and of course, courage!
The moon phase is:
47% of Full
The first quarter is the time that is halfway between the New and Full Moon. It is a stopping point, a time to look at what you’re doing and see if any adjustments need to be made. It’s kind of a point-of-no-return. You have to make a decision to keep doing what you’re doing, and there’s no turning back. That is why many astrologers say this is a time of clinging to the past. It’s not easy to go ahead into the unknown and leave the comfort of the past, even if it wasn’t that great. Often what we know feels so much safer. The excitement of the new thing has worn off. This is the testing time. Will you keep going forward? Source
This Pagan Day belongs to:
Egypt’s Isis, Osiris, & Sekhmet
Celtic Tree Month of Ngetal Ends
The Feast of Burning Lamps will be held in Egypt today. This is an observance of Isis and Osiris. Now if you remember past days in this month calendar, we went through a lot with Isis because she was quite the busy Goddess. We spent three days while she mourned, searched, and found the body of her husband Osiris. And now today, we get to sigh deeply because they are reunited, together again.
Isis and Osiris, in my opinion is one of the best love stories of all time—and not nearly as recognized as it should be.
Also in Egypt today, if you have offerings for Sekhmet, then this is the day to drop it off.
In short, (if you missed the previous Pagan days) Sekhmet feeds the spirits of the dead, among other admirable things. Now this Goddess here is another great role model for all girls and women, I think. So, get the temple cakes, wine, or bread ready and make a stop at her Temple. Don’t forget!
The Celtic Tree Month of Ngetal Ends today
(SO check back here tomorrow to see what Tree Month begins!)
Recapping, and throwing another well maintained and informative site into the spotlight:
Ngetal – Reed
Color: Grass Green
Meaning: Upsets or surprises
That’s right—even though our calendar claims its November, according to Celtic Lunar Calendar, we are in October. Or, well was, since today is the last day!
Now while I mostly use my own sources and research for calendars, I do think its important to give our readers an extra feed into other Web sites that have helped to keep the Pagan History and Culture flowing. I only give recommendations to web sites that are well polished, maintained, and are easy to search and follow. So if you know of one that you think might come in handy, toss a link my way. it’s like giving those web masters a pat on the back for working so hard to give us free reads!
Until tomorrow, I bid you all good-bye. I am off to the temples to hang out with Sekhmet today…we plan to drink some wine, kick some wicked warrior butt, and giggle at Isis & Osiris because they can’t keep their hands off of each other.
Oh yeah, and P.S.
After today, we have 1 more day until THANKSGIVING and then guess what?
30 dang days until Christmas!
